The Lighthouse has always been a leading proponent of competitive yacht racing in Subic Bay as well as in the Philippines. Regattas are held in Subic Bay regularly to foster camaraderie among local sailors and enhance yachtsmanship for international competitions. Regattas such as the Subic to Boracay Race and the Commodore's Cup Regatta, which is part of the Asian Yachting Circuit, had made Subic Bay a playground for grand prix keelboats from various countries.
