The National Cleanup Day Philippines was born on September 20, 2015, through the partnership inked with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environmental Management Bureau (DENR EMB). This campaign was spearheaded by SEED4COM, a non-stock, non-profit organization notable for strengthening partnerships with local and international organizations which focus on sustainable growth, capacity building, and believing that grassroots are key enablers of development.
The National Cleanup Summit held at the Lighthouse Marina Resort last August 25-26 was focused on mobilizing local communities, cultivating a sense of awareness, and instilling individual responsibility to own, lead, and manage community-based clean-up activities and boost national solid waste management programs.
National Cleanup Day is a call to action to defend every person's right to a healthy environment. With pollution on the rise, it is more important than ever to take a stand and make a difference. Pollution is a threat to our health, our communities, and our planet. But by coming together and taking action, we can make a real difference and work towards a cleaner world.
